Multi and Rapid Detection with MICA: Legionella, Pseudomonas, Alicyclobacillus, Bioburden, and E. coli

MICA's Comprehensive Testing Suite
Each solution in its testing repertoire presents unique challenges, MICA addresses them efficiently:

  • Results reported in colony forming units (CFUs)
  • No need for subsequent confirmation
  • Automatic enumeration
  • User-friendly interface
  • No skills required
  • Up to 250 analyses per shift of 8 hours
  • Reduction in labor costs
  • Compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 guidelines

1. MICA Legionella
Legionella pneumophila, the major causative agent of the potentially lethal Legionnaires’ disease, necessitates rigorous testing to ensure sanitary or cooling tower water safety. Based on ISO 11731 method, MICA Legionella delivers results in only 48 hours.

  • 1 GVPC plate only per analysis
  • Results in 48 hours compared with minimum 10 days with ISO 11731
  • AOAC Performance Tested Method

2. MICA Pseudomonas
Pseudomonas aeruginosa, often found in water networks or bottled water, requires meticulous testing to prevent human contamination. Based on ISO 16266 method, MICA Pseudomonas delivers results in only 24 hours.

  • No extra reagent needed
  • Results in 24 hours compared with 2-7 days with ISO 16266

3. MICA Alicyclobacillus
Alicyclobacillus spp., especially guaiacol-positive strains, pose spoilage threats to the beverage industry. Based on the IFU No. 12:2019 method, MICA Alicyclobacillus delivers results in only 24 hours.

  • Detects only Guaïacol positive strains
  • Results in 24 hours compared to 8-14 days with standard method
  • Filterable and non-filterable matrices

4. MICA Bioburden
MICA Bioburden heralds the future of microbial detection, targeting bacteria, yeasts, and molds in water. Based on ISO 6222, MICA Bioburden delivers results in a maximum of 48 hours at 22°C and 24 hours at 36°C.

  • No extra reagent is needed
  • Results 24h before standard method ISO 6222

5. Coming Soon: MICA E. coli
MICA's commitment to broad-spectrum microbial detection continues with the forthcoming launch of a rapid E. coli enumeration solution.

  • Result after 6 hours of incubation

Advantages of a Versatile Testing Approach
Professional microbiologists appreciate efficiency, and MICA delivers just that. The benefits are manifold:

  • Cost Efficiency - Multiple tests, one system. The economics speak for themselves.
  • Time-saving - In an industry where time can mean everything, rapid results can be game-changing.
  • Reliability - Precision, accuracy, and repeatability—MICA ensures all three.
  • Ease of Use - A system that's sophisticated on the inside, and intuitive on the outside. Perfect for modern labs.
