Environmental Sampling
- 25-1607 1PF SC This sterile foam swab was developed with a team at the CDC, originally designed to collect surface specimens in the search for anthrax spores. Since then, it has become a popular choice for surface sampling, with its large macrofoam tip, thick, sturdy handle, and a molded breakpoint to easily break off into dilutant after sample collection.
- 25-3406-U BT Puritan® patented PurFlock Ultra® sterile swab with dry transport tube is a favorite “super collector” and used for protocol validation. The properties of flock fibers assure that if there is anything to collect, it will pick it up, coupled with protection of the specimen from the location to the lab.
- Puritan ESK Environmental Sampling Kits ESK® will assure you that your surfaces are free of contaminants, safe, and ready for production. ESK® includes an integrated, smaller swab for sampling hard-to-reach spots and is available in four (4) solution options, with two (2) fill level options:
- Buffered Peptone Water
- Butterfield’s Solution
- Letheen Broth
- Neutralizing Buffer
Cleaning Swabs
- 25-1605-PSF RECT With its broader, rectangular foam tip on a sturdy handle, this sterile swab is a favorite for cleaning in sensitive areas but could also double as surface sampling swab.
- 1876-PF CR. A good choice for effective cleaning, the paddle handle allows the tip head to flex and get into narrow spaces while still withstanding pressure against the surface. The chemical-resistant foam stands up to a number of solvents, including IPA and acetone, and the texture of the foam provides scrubbing action to loosen any suspect material.
- 1806-PCFL. With a large foam mitt over a cotton bud, this swab provides a larger tip for cleaning but with the absorbency to hold IPA or an aqueous solution for cleaning but still be lint-free.
