Description Microzone's founder started the company with a desire to aid researchers and diagnosticians work with DNA and make their life easier. Innovation ran through the company’s arteries, as it still does today. Over the years Microzone developed novel products for extraction, PCR Mastermixes, DNA clean-up and concentration (for post PCR & Genomic DNA) and sequencing.

Microzone’s mastermixes (MegaMix, MegaMix Blue and MegaMix Gold, MegaMix Royal) rapidly became, and remain, staples in labs throughout the UK and abroad. Rapid “Direct 2 PCR” extraction systems and simple PCR Clean Up soon followed that are still solid workhorses for many scientists. The company founder just loved solving people’s problems and making live simple. These ideas still run through the company.

Since our foundation we have grown to develop three distinct aims:

PCR Mastermixes: Micozone's renowned mastermixes have been at the heart of the company for many years. We have developed a wide range of PCR Mastermixes and our own Fluorescent dye, MicroGREEN. All provide simplicity of use, robust amplification and stability to freeze thaw cycles, 4C and room temperature. We now also offer:

• qPCR (both dye and probe-based) that are robust, reliable and fast (complete PCR in 30 minutes or less). MegaMix Platinum probe-based and MegaMix Emerald dye-based qPCR mastermixes
• RT-qPCR: using our SwiftScript cDNA syntheis and our qPCR Megamixes Platinum or Emerald.
• HiFidelity: MegaMix Crystal offers speed and 100x greater fidelity compared to Taq Polymerase. Easily amplifies 20kb template.
• Inhibitor resistant: MegaMix Diamond and MegaMix Ruby for use with crude samples and compliment our Direct 2 PCR extraction / lysis buffers.
• HRM - Megamix HRM that uses our own MicroGREEN dye.
• RT-PCR for end point assays that use RNA as a starting template.
• End Point PCR - MegaMix, MegaMix Blue, MegaMix Gold, MegaMix Royal, MegaMix Diamond and MegaMix Ruby.

Free From Range: Removes the use of solvents and alcohols, columns, considerably reduces plasticware and is quicker than established alternatives:

• MicroCLEAN Range: DNA and PCR Clean-up / concentration reagents that are quick, single tube and provide recovery matching that of magnetic beads and columns. Includes MicroCLEAN, MicroCLEAN XL, MacroCLEAN. The products can also be used for dye termination removal for Sanger Sequencing.
• MicroLYSIS Range: Our range of direct-to-PCR extraction reagents. Faster than extraction, imore sustainable using less plasticware and tackles many sample types from tissue, drosophila to bacteria and fungi. With exceptional PCR amplification post lysis.
• Plant DNA Kit: Extracts and purifies DNA from a host of plant species including Arabidopsis, Hops, Strawberry and many more. Delivers exceptional purity without the use of alcohols or other solvents while greatly reducing plastic ware.
• Rapid Bead Extraction: A single tube bead extraction system - great for anyone working in the field or in a lab. The kit does not use alcohols or columns and can be easily stored.
• Rapid Sequencing Pathway: Combines MicroLYSIS Plus, MicroCLEAN and our HiFidelity MegaMix Chrystal to create a rapid, simple process from sample to sequencing.

MagNEAT – our Magnetic Bead-based Kits: A range of magnetic bead-based kits that offer ease of use, speed and excellent yield and purity.
