Siemens Healthineers and IUL SA, A New Collaboration to Fight COVID-19

Monitor Pandemic in Real-Time With Rapid Antigen Test and Reader

IUL SA and Siemens Healthineers Netherlands have combined technologies to deliver qualitative COVID-19 results for large-scale studies.

On the 13th of October Siemens Healthineers launched its rapid antigen test to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus in 15 minutes which, together with the technology of IUL SA, allows results to be sent in real-time to health care centres that are monitoring the state of the pandemic.

IUL's reader iPeak® captures and processes the image of the test; guaranteeing objectivity in interpretation and increased sensitivity of the reader of rapid tests.

Its advanced optical and image analysis system delivers qualitative results, which the reader will send in real-time, facilitating the traceability of COVID-19 cases.

Pieter van der Meijs, Sales Director of Laboratory Diagnostics at Siemens Healthineers in The Netherlands highlights the sensitivity of the iPeak®"IUL SA has been fast flexible and accurate, being the perfect ally in providing a complete solution to support high throughput test facilities in the Netherlands."

Vicenç Font, CEO at IUL SA, underlies the commitment and determination of Siemens Healthineers from the first moment that the project began and the reader has been key in combatting this pandemic.
