Cutting-Edge Magnetic Beads Eliminates Background Microbial Contamination in MNGS

As a novel pathogen identification technique, next-generation metagenomic sequencing (mNGS) isa pwerful new tool able to recognise bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, rare pathogens, and even unknown pathogens. Able to identify all nucleic acids in a sample even ones that contain mixed populations. The NGS method is unbiased, able to quickly, effectively, and precisely extract all nucleic acid information from a sample, and is thus perfectly suited for examining potentially pathogenic microbes.

However, false positives can be an issue throughout the mNGS testing procedure resulting from trace DNA contaminants found in lab reagents, centrifuge tubes, or other phases of the experimental workflow that can contaminate the DNA.
