Antimicrobial Resistance Trends in Anaerobes

Dr. Padmaja A Shenoy is currently working as an Associate Professor of Microbiology at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India.

She has more than 14 years of diagnostic experience in the field of clinical microbiology. Her prime area of research is in the field of anaerobic bacteriology with special emphasis on antimicrobial resistance among anaerobes.

She has conducted several intramural and extramural research projects targeting antimicrobial resistance among anaerobes and Gut microbiome profiling. She has received several grants from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR, New Delhi), Central India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur (CIIMS), Manipal Center for Infectious Diseases (MACID), Velbiom Probiotics Ltd & MAHE Manipal for performing research projects. Dr. Padmaja has more than 50 publications in various national and international journals, with the majority focusing on anaerobes and their implications in the medical community. She has conducted and has been part of several national hands-on workshops on anaerobes. Also, she delivered several guest lectures and presented scientific papers at various national and international conferences in this field.
