New Swabs Aid Sample Collection

Utilising a spray on nylon fibre technology, Sterilin can now offer a range of swabs with a brush like 'flocked' collection head. With these new flocked swabs, the perpendicular nylon fibres act like a soft brush, allowing the improved collection of cell samples. Capillary action between to fibre strands also aids the uptake of liquid samples. As the sample remains close to the swab head surface it is more easily released than with regular fibre tipped swabs where there is always the possibility of sample entrapment within the fibre matrix. Especially important if the sample size is particularly small.
