Bibby Sterilin, UK manufacturers of world famous brand names in laboratory consumables and equipment, has launched a new identity to coincide with the opening of their new £5million Distribution Centre at their UK headquarters in Stone, Staffordshire.

The new company name - Barloworld Scientific - and the new state of the art warehousing facility were unveiled recently by Tony Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of Barloworld Limited. Since the 1960's, the company has operated under several names, including J. Bibby Science Products and, since the 1980's, Bibby Sterilin.

The new central Distribution Centre, one of the biggest and most modern of its type, will help safeguard over 300 jobs at the company's Stone headquarters with the prospect of new jobs over the next six months. The handling equipment was supplied by sister company Barloworld Industrial Handling. The 145,000 cubic metres facility has a 10,000 square metre footprint ( the equivalent of two and a half premiership football pitches) and houses 21,200 stock-keeping units, 4 kilometres of racking and 2.6 kilometres of truck guidance cable.
