Sorcerer Colony Counter Wins Tenders for Research
go back to news archives The Sorcerer colony counting system from Perceptive Instruments has recently won a number of tenders, including selection by a leading edge University research group in the UK for analysis of Serum Bactericidal Assays (SBA) as part of an ongoing vaccine research project. Sorcerer is already used for SBA by organisations in the UK, USA, Finland, Norway, New Zealand and Niger as part of the global fight against meningitis. Also through an open tender, Sorcerer was chosen by a prestigious Scandinavian public health institute primarily for the determination of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of antibiotics. They are now additionally using the system for inhibition zone assays and a range of bacterial colony counting applications. Sorcerer is the latest in a highly successful series of automatic colony counting systems from Perceptive Instruments. It combines sophisticated image processing and analysis with an innovative Petri-viewer to provide fast, accurate counts of bacterial and mammalian colonies for a wide range of applications. |
