Veredus Laboratories Lab-on-Chip Test to Diagnose Covid-19
Veredus Laboratories offers VereCoV™ Detection Kit, a portable Lab-On-Chip application on the VerePLEX™ Biosystem, with cutting-edge capabilities to detect, differentiate and identify SARS-CoV-2 (2019-nCoV) and SARS-CoV in one test, to aid clinicians for the diagnosis of COVID-19.
Each kit contains 50 tests with a Total Turnaround Time (TAT) of approximately 2.5 hours. With a Limit of Detection (LOD) ranging between 100 to 200 copies of viral RNA (per chip reaction): the test has more than 99% specificity, without any cross-reactivity with the Human genome, other families of the coronavirus or respiratory viruses such as Influenza virus.
The VerePLEX™ Biosystem comprises of 3 major components, namely Temperature Control System (TCS); Laptop; Optical Reader (OR). Each TCS is equipped with five modules that allow individual tests to be performed at any one time. Laboratories could enhance the capacity of VerePLEX™ Biosystem by linking up to 5 TCS. This allows users to perform up to 75 tests and 225 tests in an 8-hour and 24-hour work shift, respectively.
Veredus Laboratories manufactures, markets and sells VerePLEX™ Biosystem to provide innovative multiplexed molecular solutions in the food safety, biosurveillance, infectious disease and custom testing markets. The VerePLEX™ Biosystem works in conjunction with VereChip™ - a Lab-on-Chip platform that utilizes micro-fluidics to integrate multiplexed nucleic acid amplification with microarray detection for rapid, cost-effective, and accurate analysis of biological materials.
