Alpha Labs New Lateral Flow Assay Provides Quick and Easy Diagnosis of Invasive Aspergillosis

Alpha Labs new immunochromatographic test system for the qualitative detection of Aspergillus Galactomannan in serum and BAL samples, provides a simplified test procedure and rapid turnaround time for the diagnosis of invasive aspergillosis.

Aspergillus GM LFA  provides high sensitivity and specificity, plus the easy to use format and rapid 30 minute test time eliminates the need for batch testing. When used in conjunction with other diagnostic procedures such as microbiological culture, histological examination of biopsy samples and radiographic evidence, the Aspergillus GM LFA aids the diagnosis of aspergillosis. Improved diagnostics could lead to better treatment outcomes and higher survival rates!

Over 30 million people are at risk of invasive aspergillosis each year and over 300,000 patients develop it annually. The disease is common in high risk patients with: haematological malignancies, chemotherapy-induced neutropenia, allogeneic HSCT (stem cell transplant) and who have undergone solid organ transplant (primarily lung).
