OmniLog™ , the new Microbial Identification System from Thermo Scientific, gives QC and RD laboratories the ability to identify over 700 species of Gram-negative and Gram-positive aerobic bacteria.

The system uses carbon source utilization technology, incorporating 95 pre-selected carbon sources in a 96 well MicroPlate™ format. Following the inoculation of the organism into the pre-selected carbon sources the OmniLog™ automatically incubates, reads and interprets the MicroPlates.

The continuous sampling process allows users to load plates when ready and remove completed plates without disturbing the other samples that are still being processed.

Results are based on 95 reactions from 6-8 different classes of carbon sources and when combined with sophisticated Windows®-based interpretation software, OmniLog™ can deliver unparalleled precision in as little 4 hours.
