Easier Media Preparation Using Oxoid Dry-Bags, Now Available from Remel Inc.
go back to news archives | Remel is pleased to announce the United States availability of new Dry-Bags from Oxoid. Dry-Bags greatly reduce the time, labor, and materials involved in preparing large volumes of media for microbiology testing in the food industry. Pre-weighed, sterile dehydrated media are supplied in lightweight transparent plastic bags. Just add water, and the medium is ready to use. |
Oxoid Dry-Bags completely eliminate the need for glassware, improving safety and removing the need for washing and sterilization. Water is simply added through the attached 0.2 micron filter, and the bag is ready to use in minutes. Each bag makes 20 liters of medium, sufficient for 88 aliquots of 225 mL, which is easily dispensed through the outlet tube. When empty, the bag can be disposed of with normal laboratory waste. |
