Detect More Targets with New Foodproof® GMO Screening Kit, 5'Nuclease!
go back to news archives | In order to guarantee highest food safety by detecting the latest generation of genetically modified organisms (GMO) in agriculture, BIOTECON Diagnostics has now developed the new foodproof® GMO Screening Kit, 5'Nuclease. This new kit is able to detect four different targets in one single PCR: not only the well-known 35S promoter and NOS terminator, but now also the FMV promoter and the bar gene. This 4 x detection is currently unique in the market! |
In 2009, approvals existed for more than 140 GMO varieties (so-called events) worldwide. Due to this great number of GMO, an initial screening by real-time PCR has been established as a widespread method for the routine analysis of food and feed samples. For a long time BIOTECON Diagnostics has offered the popular foodproof® GMO Screening Kit for the detection of the two most frequently used screening elements in GM plants, the 35S promoter and the NOS terminator. This kit can be used on the Roche LightCycler® instruments 1.x, 2.0 and 480. Now with the new foodproof® GMO Screening Kit, 5'Nuclease, which is based on TaqMan® technology, the comprehensive detection of more screening targets than ever is possible for laboratories using other manufacturers' instruments, such as Applied Biosystems, Bio-Rad, Agilent Technologies etc. In combination with the foodproof® GMO Sample Preparation Kit for the isolation and purification of plant DNA from food and feed matrices, this unique method enables you to investigate your samples easily and efficiently, with test kits from a single source. Don't compromise - just analyze. |
