IDEXX has now introduced Tecta^®, a complete, self-contained system, providing rapid evidence of bacterial contamination, either within or outside of a traditional laboratory setting.

Tecta is flexible, simple to use, and can be utilised nearly anytime, by anyone, anywhere. Positive results can be available in as little as 2-4 hours, with negative results confirmed in 16-24 hours. These are then automatically sent by email without the need for users to be present to read the test. Tecta is compatible with a range of matrices including drinking/potable water, process water, recycled water for re-use, bathing / recreational water, wastewater and biosolids. Its wide detection range means samples that usually require dilution, such as those with complex particulate loading or colour, can be run on Tecta without any dilutions or processing, accelerating time to results.

The Tecta system allows sampling and testing to be carried out in a wide range of scenarios where traditional testing methods would prove challenging. These include:

• Remote locations where routine sampling and testing is impractical
• Special events and recreation sites: testing for water parks, sporting events or special projects can be carried out onsite
