Solus Scientific Offers Multiple Benefits for Environmental Testing

When food production facilities carry out environmental testing they need the results fast in order to release products, reduce inventory or implement corrective actions promptly if necessary. When food testing laboratories are processing environmental samples for their clients they not only need to offer rapid results but, with an ever-changing volume of samples to be tested, they also need the flexibility to cope with fluctuating demand whilst keeping lab resources lean and efficient. That’s where Solus Scientific can help.

With specifically designed immunoassay kits, dedicated selective enrichment media and automated liquid handling, the Solus Pathogen Detection System can offer solutions for environmental testing for Listeria, Salmonella and E. coli O157 with the speed, accuracy and that flexibility that you need.

Solus offers rapid results
Solus have created the Solus One™ range, a collection of assays that provide rapid results for environmental and food pathogen testing. Solus One assays provide negative and presumptive positive results in one day using only one enrichment step.

Solus offers peace of mind
All Solus immunoassay kits are certified for environmental testing either by AOAC, AFNOR, or both, giving you peace of mind that our assays are reliable and robust.

Solus offers options to fit into any lab
With kits available in two sizes, 96 or 480 tests per kit, and protocols that can easily be run manually for smaller facilities or efficiently automated for high-throughput requirements, the Solus Pathogen Detection System offers the ideal system for labs of all sizes.

Solus Pathogen Detection System offers efficient use of resources
To truly benefit from the power of the Solus Pathogen Detection System, Solus recommends automating our assays using the Dynex DS2. This automated ELISA processing unit can manipulate 2 x 96-well plates simultaneously to provide a total of 192 results in approximately 3 hours after sample enrichment. And the best bit… 2 of those 3 hours can be spent elsewhere in the lab, preparing another batch of samples, analysing plates or catching up on paperwork.

The simple Solus protocols come pre-loaded on to the DS2 and walk the user through each step of the set-up process, creating a smooth and extremely easy-to-use system.

Solus offers flexibility
With its high-throughput and walk-away capabilities the DS2 offers flexibility for processing fluctuating sample numbers. One analyst can either run the assay manually for just a few samples or comfortably run upto 3 DS2 units, allowing up to 558 samples + controls to be initiated every 3 hours.

Solus offers security
The DS2 unit incorporates an on-board barcode scanning system that allows for excellent sample traceability so your client can be assured of receiving the correct result for each test sample.

Solus offers space
Due to the compact format of our kits and the small footprint of the DS2, the Solus Pathogen Detection System could save significant space in fridges, incubators, media prep rooms, benchtops and waste disposal.
