The multiple-organism “Cocktail” product is an ISO Guide 34 certified reference material (CRM) comprising a blended microorganism pellet.

Upon product purchase, the customer will receive 10 glass vacuum-sealed vials, each containing one multi-microorganism pellet. Depending on the product ordered, a single pellet can be used to determine the following:  Aerobic Plate Count, Total Coliform, E. coli, Enterobacteriaceae, S. aureus, Yeast, and Mold using 3M^™Petrifilms.

Cocktail pellets manufactured by NSI’s proprietary lyophilization process and unique Microgel-Flash™ pellet formula result in reliable products with excellent lot homogeneity. Pellets maintain certified activity levels for 14 months when stored at -10 to -20° Celsius. This product is designed and certified for use on 3M^™ Petrifilm. The product is also suitable for other rehydratable film media, FDA Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM) methods, and certain USDA MLG methods. For non-Petrifilm^™ applications, the customer should first determine in-house acceptance limits for their validated methods.

This CRM is certified for APC, Total Coliforms, E. coli, Enterobacteriaceae, S. aureus, Mold, and Yeast within the method countable ranges after rehydrating a single pellet in 100mL of hydration fluid. In a study comparing NSI’s cocktail products to competitors’ single microorganism pellets, NSI customers saved an average of $2400.
