Join Julien Pastor and Vincent Ulvé, Global Product Manager, Pall Genedisc Technologies, as they discuss how the Genedisc system uses a ready to use cartridge pre-loaded with all reagents making it one of the easiest PCR platforms to use. Genedisc has both AOAC and AFNOR validation for STEC in beef where sample to result within 8 hours makes it practical for same shift release. The Genedisc result is so specific for STEC, it is validated as an alternative method so confirmation via ISO is not necessary, the first disc is used to screen your samples and any presumptive positives (after an immuno-concentration) can be confirmed positive on a second disc.

Assays available for the Genedisc system include:

• Biopharmaceuticals
  Testing for the key indicator organisms cited in the pharmacopoeial chapters such as USP /EP 2.6.13/JP 35.2 and USP . These organisms are Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans and Aspergillus brasiliensis.


• Food Industry
  Testing for key food-borne pathogens, such as Salmonella and Listeria, as well as pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli
  (O157 and non-O157 STEC).


• Water Safety
  Quantification of Legionella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in critical water systems, and testing of bathing water for E. coli, Enterococcus faecalis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, with results available in hours.
