Pall GeneDisc Technologies, part of Pall Corporation, have announced that its latest solution for the screening of pathogenic Escherichia coli, the GeneDisc STEC Top 7 Plate, has received AOAC-PTM certification. The GeneDisc STEC Top 7 Plate is approved for detection of E. coli O157:H7 and non-O157 STEC in raw ground beef and raw beef trim in as fast as 12 hours from sample to result. The GeneDisc STEC Top 7 Plate was also granted NF VALIDATION certification for E. coli O157:H7 detection in raw beef meat, dairy products and vegetables.

The unique GeneDisc STEC Top 7 solution is a one-step testing method, which combines virulence factors and serogroups detections, after an enrichment as short as 10 hours. It greatly reduces presumptive positive prevalence rate compared to other methods and enables accelerated batch releases. This easy-to-use solution was developed to answer food industries needs for a cost-effective and accurate screening of pathogenic STEC.

These certifications complete the range of GeneDisc food safety solutions certified by AOAC and AFNOR Certification such as Listeria monocytogenes and/or Listeria spp., Salmonella spp., pathogenic E. coli O157:H7 and STEC assays.
