This workshop focuses specifically on food safety in the sectors dairy and infant formula. You will learn more about our solutions for the detection of pathogens as well as spoilage organisms in milk, cheese, yogurts, infant formula and other products using molecular biological methods. The workshop offers lectures and also includes hands-on training of DNA extraction and real-time PCR setup, data analysis and interpretation.

  • Introduction into the microbiological pathogens in dairy products
  • A new rapid method: quantification of yeast and molds in dairy products
  • Molecular biological testing: detection of ListeriaClostridium botulinum
  • Detection of mastitis pathogens using real-time PCR
  • Hands-on training in the lab: Multiplex PCR solutions, control of powdered infant formula; simultaneous detection of the genera Cronobacter, Salmonella nd the family of Enterobacteriaceae
