Manage Resources More Effectively With New Version of Autoscribe Resource Planner

Effective deployment of valuable resources is fundamental to the success of any business. To help businesses raise productivity through better resource tracking and planning, Autoscribe is pleased to announce that a new version of its Resource Planner software is now available.

Built using the latest Microsoft.Net framework, Resource Planner has the look and feel of Matrix LIMS, Autoscribe's primary laboratory management system. A unique aspect of the system is the use of artificial intelligence algorithms to generate plans for maximum performance and results.

Resource Planner looks at any new or outstanding tasks and suggests an optimal plan for completion based on workload priority, task completion times, and resource availability. Short term planning is achieved through automatic weekly scheduling and work sheet generation, while longer term planning is possible through due date checking and task completion time allocation.

Once relevant resource information has been entered into Resource Planner, a plan can be generated using the scheduling algorithm. The generated plan can then be activated so the resources in the plan can be booked and subsequent project plans generated. The output from Resource Planner includes the generated plans and reports, as well as an expertise tracker and equipment/instrument tracker. Information is presented in clear, highly intuitive graphs for quick and easy assessment.

Often resources available can change at short notice, which can result in delays in the completion of important and time-sensitive projects. To address this issue Resource Planner uses 'what-if' scenarios by recalculating work completion times, and adjusting the priority of tasks accordingly.

Resource Planner is available as a stand alone product or can be integrated as a module of Matrix LIMS, an existing LIMS or other Information Management System.
