Thermo Scientific Extend Range for Environmental Monitoring in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Copan Triple Wapped Swab

Thermo Scientific has extended its range of environmental monitoring products for the pharmaceutical industry with the introduction of Copan single tube swab kits. Individually triple-wrapped for assured sterility, these swabs are manufactured to the highest quality standards and can be used with confidence in critical areas such as isolators and clean rooms.

Swabs are supplied in individual tubes that contain a solution absorbed in a sponge, in which to pre-moisten the swab before sampling. Containing the solution within the sponge eliminates unwanted spillages. After sampling, the swab can be streaked directly on to an appropriate culture medium.

Each swab and tube is triple-wrapped in Vaporised Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) resistant packaging and irradiated at 25KGy for sterility assurance. For optimum effectiveness, the swabs are designed to inactivate common cleaning agents and dissolve bio-films on contact. The absence of glass and sharp edges maximises safety and a long shelf-life makes the kits convenient to store.

Copan single tube swab kits are available from Thermo Scientific in packs of 200 (order code TS0954C). To satisfy customers’ quality assurance requirements, quality certificates and technical files are available on request.
