New RIDASCREEN® SET Total Screen for Staph Enterotoxin

RIDASCREEN SET total
One of the main causative agents of food poisoning are Staphylococcal enterotoxins These heat stable proteins are not only produced by strains of Staphylococcus aureus but other Staphylococcal species such as S. hyicus and S. intermedius have also been found to be able to produce these toxins.
Generally it is assumed that a population of 5 x 105 cells of enterotoxin-producing Staphylococcus aureus strains per gram of food is required to lead to food poisoning. However, other studies have shown that only 100 - 200 ng of Staphylococcal enterotoxin can lead to symptoms of food poisoning. Therefore R-Biopharm has developed the new RIDASCREEN® SET Total for the total detection of the most relevant enterotoxins A - E.

By screening food samples for the presence of Staphylococcal enterotoxins the sample can be quickly and cost-effectively determined as positive or negative.

Positive samples can easily be confirmed by using the identification kit RIDASCREEN® SET A, B, C, D, E.
