Food Safety Watch, a web-based information service for the food industry, has been revamped to make access to reliable food safety information even easier.

Food safety is a crucial issue for food businesses and getting it right can mean the difference between success and failure. But keeping up with the latest developments can be a daunting task, especially for smaller businesses.
Finding high quality, up-to-date, authoritative information is time consuming, but a web-based service called FoodSafetyWatch has been helping to address this problem since 2008, providing access to a wide range of food safety-related news and information via a single web portal. Now the site has been given a crisp new look and contains substantially more scientific and technical information, which is also much easier to access.

Compiled by Food Safety Info, a small team of experienced information professionals, FoodSafetyWatch supplies a weekly news bulletin, feature articles, and more than 100 carefully researched fact sheets on a wide range of topics from acrylamide to Salmonella and from hygienic design to aflatoxins. New feature articles and fact sheets are regularly added to the site to reflect emerging food safety issues and the latest research, helping businesses look ahead, anticipate new requirements and keep one step ahead of their competitors.

Much of the content is now free to access, including key fact sheets, but payment of a modest membership fee will give access to all the content and resources on the site, including archives of food safety news and worldwide product recalls going back to January 2006, and the library of over 100 'food safety hazard' fact-sheets. Members will also benefit from a free enquiry service and will have preferential access to the other information services supplied by Food Safety Info. Having responsibility for food safety in a small food business has its challenges, but FoodSafetyWatch is now even better equipped to make the lives of food safety professionals easier.
