Wells' Dairy Introduces IDBS' E-WorkBook into Corporate R&D Site

Wells' Dairy (Le Mars, Iowa) has introduced the IDBS E-WorkBook into their corporate R&D site to capture, search, share and query their research data. E-WorkBook is a compliant, secure and extensible science-neutral ELN designed for research scientists of any discipline.

Wells' Dairy was founded in 1913 and is the world's largest family owned and managed dairy processor. With multiple ice cream and dairy products currently in development, Wells' Dairy sought an electronic data management solution to store critical R&D data, facilitate compliance with FDA regulatory requirements, and create a standardized process for the capture and establishment of Intellectual Property (IP).

Dr. Tom Aurand, Sr. Director of R & D at Wells' Dairy commented, 'We are very impressed with the innovative and flexible design of E-WorkBook and its ability to streamline workflow. The provision of a central repository and the capacity to manage our data in a structured way will enhance our ability to communicate more efficiently. E-WorkBook eliminates duplication of work and gives corporate global access to our results, including contextual information, which will support better decision-making throughout the organization.' He added, 'E-WorkBook has been readily adopted by scientists at Wells' Dairy due to its very intuitive organization, and we now see potential uses for other areas of our business.'
