PowerWater® Kits - Isolate DNA and RNA from Water Samples

PowerWater DNA and RNA isolation kit
PowerWater® DNA Isolation Kit
The PowerWater® DNA Isolation Kit is our next generation kit for extraction of genomic DNA from a variety of filtered water samples, and uses our novel patented Inhibitor Removal Technology® (IRT).

With IRT, even water containing heavy amounts of contaminants can be processed to provide DNA of high quality and yield. The kit can isolate DNA from common filter membrane types and is available with or without our sterile, disposable 0.45 µm and 0.22 µm filter funnels.
This kit differs from our UltraClean® Water DNA Isolation Kit by allowing for microcentrifuge processing of 47 mm sized water filters using a novel bead tube with optimized bead mix, a streamlined lysis procedure that reduces processing volumes, and incorporation of our IRT technology. DNA is ready to use in a final 100 µl volume.

PowerWater® RNA Isolation Kit
The PowerWater® RNA Isolation Kit is the first kit specifically designed to isolate RNA from microbes present in environmental water samples including bacteria (both Gram +ve and Gram -ve), fungi and algae.

This kit includes our novel PowerWater® bead tubes for optimal lysis and our patented Inhibitor Removal Technology® (IRT) for better sensitivity in RT-PCR and yields RNA of high quality and purity. With IRT, even water containing heavy amounts of contaminants can be processed to provide high quality RNA. The kit can isolate RNA from common filter membrane types with a protocol that is fast and simple taking less than 40 minutes.
