Data Merging and Updated Database for DuPont Nutrition & Health RiboPrinter® System

The RiboPrinter® Data Merging Workstation is a new option available from DuPont Nutrition & Health for advanced microbial tracking. Customers who use several RiboPrinter® systems in their labs can now combine records from each system into one integrated database for comprehensive comparison, grouping and identification of unknown bacteria. For regulated industries, a Data Merging Validation package of ready-made protocols is also available.

Additionally, DuPont Nutrition & Health has released an update to the RiboPrinter® system identification database, adding over 400 new RiboPrint™ patterns of critical interest to the pharmaceutical industry.

The RiboPrinter® system uses powerful genetic information to provide an automated genetic snapshot, or RiboPrint™ pattern, of any bacterium in less than eight hours. With over 6,400 patterns in the identification database, electronic data security and characterization below the species level, the RiboPrinter® system surpasses U.S. Food and Drug Association guidelines for preventing contamination and assuring consistency in aseptic processing.

In addition to the RiboPrinter® system, DuPont Nutrition & Health markets the award-winning BAX® detection system, an innovative DNA-based technology for screening food and environmental samples for pathogens or other organisms. The BAX® detection system provides polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays to screen food and other samples for Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, Listeria spp., E. coli O157:H7 and Enterobacter sakazakii.
