Rapid Pathogen ID Test - Range Extended

QuickFISHâ„¢ kitsQuickFISHâ„¢ kits developed by AdvanDx and available in the UK from Alpha Laboratories, are fast and easy-to-use tests that enable microbiology laboratories to report species identification together with the Gram stain results. This means clinicians can prescribe the correct antimicrobial therapy for septicaemia patients much earlier and avoid unnecessary treatment e.g. for patients with CoNS contaminated blood cultures.

Revolutionary new PNA Probe Technology incorporated into diagnostic QuickFISH kits, provides fast and highly specific targeting of pathogen rRNA via Fluorescence In Situ Hybridisation (FISH). For example, these kits enable rapid identification of S. aureus and Coagulase-Negative Staphylococci (CoNS), directly from GPCC-positive blood cultures in just 20 minutes!

QuickFISH Kits are now also available for Enterococcus and Gram Negative Rods with kits for Yeast coming soon.

The kits enable 20 minute pathogen ID direct from positive blood culture. They simplify testing for the laboratory with fewer steps, less hands-on time (only 5 minutes) and a shorter turn-around time. They include built-in positive and negative controls and no wash steps are required.

New QuickFISHâ„¢ tests improve patient care by enabling earlier diagnosis and delivery of appropriate and optimised antibiotic treatment. This reduces hospital stays and improves mortality rates. Healthcare costs are reduced by avoiding unnecessary treatment.
