PathoGenetix, Inc Acquired by Toxic Reports, LLC
Toxic Reports, LLC, a provider of analytical services for the rapid testing of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in food, environmental and clinical samples, has acquired the assets of PathoGenetix™, Inc., a commercial-stage developer of the RESOLUTION™ Microbial Genotyping System, an automated system for rapid bacterial identification. The combined company synergy expands the Toxic Reports' product and services, offering a range of analyses from simple organic molecules (such as pesticides) to the characterization of bacteria in various environmental and food samples.
The RESOLUTION Mirobial Genotyping System is based on Genome Sequence Scanning™ (GSS™) technology, and has been demonstrated through collaborations with government agencies such as the CDC and FDA. Additionally, MRIGlobal, an independent contract research firm, purchased an early commercial version of the RESOLUTION System in April, 2014 and is currently using the System in one of its US government funded projects.
Toxic Reports is proceeding with the design and manufacture of the full commercial model of the RESOLUTION System and plans to begin selling directly to customers in March, 2015. Initial applications of the RESOLUTION System will focus bacterial pathogen identification in the food safety and public health/epidemiology markets.
More info on the RESOLUTION™ Microbial Genotyping System for fully automated molecular serotyping and strain typing
