New Food Microbiology E-Book Now Available
Food Safety Watch, an online news and information service covering all aspects of food safety, has published the first in a planned series of e-books for the food industry. Biological Hazards in Food provides the essential facts about bacteria, viruses and parasites that cause foodborne disease, condensed into 170 carefully researched pages.
Among the 23 foodborne pathogens included in the book are:
- Clostridium botulinum
- Vero-cytotoxigenic E. coli (VTEC)
Biological Hazards in Food has been compiled by Richard Lawley and Laurie Curtis, both experienced food microbiologists formerly of Leatherhead Food Research and also authors of The Food Safety Hazard Guidebook, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry and now in it's second edition.
Written in a concise and accessible style, the new e-book is designed to help food microbiologists and food safety professionals carry out risk analysis and HACCP reviews by presenting the key facts about a wide range of biological hazards in a single source of reference.
