Lab M Focuses on ISO Compliant and Chromogenic Media at Food Seminar

Lab M introduced food industry experts to the company's latest culture media at this year's 'Rapid and alternative microbiological methods' seminar and exhibition held on 4 June at Campden BRI (Gloucestershire, UK). Microbiologists, laboratory personnel, food manufacturers and retailers gathered to discuss rapid microbiological testing technology relevant to product safety within the food industry.
“The seminar presented an excellent opportunity to meet with both key industry contacts and customers,” said Colin LeGood, Sales & Marketing Manager for Lab M. “There was great interest in our products designed to meet the needs of ISO in the food industry.

In particular, Modified Lauryl Sulphate Tryptose Broth with MUG & Tryptophan (ISO) for the presumptive enumeration of E.coli from milk and milk products, and the new Cronobacter sakazakii range which now includes the Harlequin™ Cronobacter sakazakii Isolation Medium (Harlequin™ CSIM). Chromogenic technology achieves rapid detection and reduces the need for subculture or confirmatory tests.

Speed and accuracy are important aspects in microbiological analysis within the food industry. Product safety is maintained via quick identification and eradication of harmful pathogens. Lab M specialises in the production of dehydrated culture media, including a range of chromogenic media for the identification of significant food-borne organisms.
