PROTECT Microbial Preservation Range to be Expanded

PROTECT

Introduced into the market by TSC over 20 years ago, PROTECT is the original bead storage system for the preservation of microorganisms which is suitable for long term storage of bacteria, fungi and yeasts as well as many fastidious or delicate microorganisms and anaerobes.

Ideally suited for the maintenance of stock cultures and QC organisms, PROTECT reduces the risk of mutation and contamination associated with continual subculturing.

PROTECT consists of 20 ceramic beads suspended in a cryopreservative fluid in a vial suitable for deep freezing. The porous structure of the beads gives a high surface area and therefore a high absorbance capacity for microorganisms.

The product is currently available in polystyrene and polypropylene trays of 100 vials as well as in bulk pack packaging and is colour coded.

Now, TSC are to extend and revamp the current range of PROTECT with additional new media which will include the following:
  • Meat Free media
  • Anaerobes
  • Dairy
  • Moulds and Yeasts

The format for this new range of PROTECT will remain exactly the same as the original product but will incorporate the option of smaller pack sizes of 25 vials

TSC have been an established global manufacturer of microbiological and laboratory consumables for over 25 years.TSC manufacture a range of Transport, Culture and Hygiene swabs together with disposable inoculating loops, needles and spreaders. The TSC Enviroscreen range of products is a unique and specialized range of products that are used extensively in the environmental and food testing industry.
