Rapid Enumeration of Biomass and Viable Mycoplasma bovis Using the RBD 3000

RBD 3000

Advanced Analytical has developed a rapid, 30-minute test for accurately enumerating Mycoplasma bovis biomass and viable cells utilizing the RBD 3000, a fully automated instrument specifically designed for counting microorganisms.

Real-time enumeration of cell mass and viable cells in culture allows scientists to monitor growth and harvest cultures at optimal times for the best product yield. Mycoplasmas can take days, and in some cases weeks, to culture on agar plates. Therefore, a rapid method of enumeration is significantly beneficial.

Enumeration of M. bovis cultures by the RBD 3000 can be obtained within 30 minutes for both biomass and viable cell count.

RBD 3000
The RBD 3000 viable M. bovis counts correlate very well with the plate count method.

The RBD 3000 has a rugged, flexible design, appropriate for manufacturing, R&D, and QA environments and can be used for real-time monitoring of Mycoplasma spp., as well as a wide variety of microorganisms in the fermentation industry.

Advanced Analytical also offers a Mycoplasma Test Kit and a TVO Test Kit for purified water monitoring and other direct enumeration applications.

The RBD3000 proprietary software is 21 CFR Part 11 validatable, providing the document control required by the industry.

See us at the annual meeting of the Society of Industrial Microbiology (SIM) Conference in Chicago August 21 - 25, 2005 (booth # 0018) for a live demonstration.
