The robotic arm moves the sample through a series of steps that includes vial cap removal, reagent addition, sample mixing and incubation. Three independent programmable reagent storage ports allow user control of the addition of precise reagent amounts into each sample and the incubation time prior to RBD3000 analysis. The robotic arm provides precise controlled injection of the sample into the RBD3000 optical sensing area. Total analysis time is 10 -20 minutes, depending on the method and sample volume. Reagent FasTest Kits are available for the rapid evaluation of microbial biomass and total viable organisms (TVO) with detection limits of 10 CFU/ml. Antibody based technology and PNA probes can also be used in conjunction with the RBD3000 for the enumeration of specific organisms. The RBD3000 whole cell based assay technology has advanced into the new generation of automation and the application base has expanded to include the detection of over 150 different bacterial types of interest or concern during process quality control within the pharmaceutical, food, vaccine development and other industrial microbiology industries. The RBD3000 proprietary software is 21 CFR Part 11 validatable, providing the document control required by the industry. See us at ASM, booth #760 for a live demonstration. |
