Oxoid Exhibits Extensive Range of Clinical Microbiology Products at ECCMID 2004

Image Microbact™ for bacterial identification

Visitors to Stand 329 at ECCMID (European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, Prague, 1-4 May 2004) can view many of Oxoid's diagnostic products for clinical microbiologists. These include Microbact™ - a new range of manual identification systems - and new additions to the Diagnostic Reagents range as well as Oxoid's extensive range of ready prepared media.

The Microbact™ range offers a selection of self-contained, biochemical-based tests for the identification of key pathogenic bacteria, including Gram-negative bacteria, Listeria species and Staphylococcal species.

Oxoid Diagnostic Reagents are simple-to-use, rapid, agglutination tests, available in both wet and dry formats. The DrySpot range is particularly convenient and safe to use as reagents are pre-dried onto the test cards requiring only the addition of sample. The lack of wet reagents also means that DrySpot kits can be stored at room temperature - saving valuable space in laboratory refrigerators.

With ready-to-use prepared media manufacturing sites in the UK, Germany, Canada and Australia and next day delivery via a network of worldwide subsidiaries and distributors, more and more laboratories are now choosing to use Oxoid's ready prepared media. Available in a wide range of formats including plates, bottles, vials, bags and tubes, each batch comes complete with quality certification saving time and costs involved in media preparation and quality control procedures.
