| This is the third year that Oxoid has hosted its popular Infection Control Seminar. Visitors to last year’s event were quoted as saying, "Much better than many courses that I have paid for," and, "A very informative and well organised event with great opportunities to mingle with colleagues and share ideas and experiences."
The Seminar is free to attend, but places do need to be booked in advance.
The full day’s agenda includes:

- Environmental Monitoring: Lessons that can be learned, by hospitals, about environmental monitoring and control from the food industry. Chris Griffith, University of Cardiff.
- Multi-resistant Gram-negative Organisms: Dr Soothill, Consultant Microbiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
- Eradicating Healthcare-associated Environmental Organisms: Laboratory-based evidence for cleaning protocols. Professor Mike Wren, Consultant Biomedical Scientist (Microbiology), University College Hospital, London and Visiting Professor, University of Westminster.
- Legal Issues Surrounding Hospital-acquired Infections: MRSA and patient claims. Anne Reed, Solicitor.
