bioMérieux have announced that Vitek 2 Compact now has AOAC® OMA (Official Methods of Analysis^SM) approval for the GP card (used to identify Gram-Positive bacteria), continuing a legacy of OMA approval for the VITEK automated methods, as for the GN card (used to identify Gram-Negative bacteria) AOAC OMA was approved last December. The VITEK® 2 Compact is the only automated system to receive OMA approval for the identification of Listeria and Staphylococcus species.
