Hot Topics in Pharmaceutical Microbiology - Pharmig Autumn Meetings
 | Pharmig have organised a series of meetings which help address the current needs of those working in or have responsibility for pharmaceutical microbiology.
| Setting up and Managing a Training Programme in the Microbiology Lab 25th September 2008, Northampton, UK Are you in control of your training programme? Do you feel confident that it will meet regulatory scrutiny? Microbiology training programmes are coming under increasing regulatory examination. Coupled with this - it is vital that companies also have a well-documented training system to meet GMP guidelines. Unique to Pharmig, this hands on one-day workshop will ensure that you will leave with a clear understanding of the structure of a regulatory acceptable and compliant training programme. This meeting is not lecture led. You, as delegates, will be presented with training files in which the practical workshop will be based around. In having open and frank discussions you will also be in the position to benchmark your current training programme with your peers, taking on board their approaches and structures as well as gaining a vital insight, from experienced tutors, into basic microbiological techniques which are often overlooked as an important part of a training programme. Who Should Attend? Managers/Supervisors in Microbiology QA/QC, Regulatory Training, Experienced Microbiology laboratory personnel.
| | Best Practices in Microbiological Control and Documentation 16th October 2008, Northamptonshire, UK This practical workshop will present an overview of the most efficient, as described by quality and microbiology personnel, practices in maintenance of the QC aspect of the microbiology laboratory and its associated documentation with reference to current regulatory expectations. In addition, the workshop will discuss in detail the ‘best practice’ in the generation of protocols to the presentation of the raw data then the final report. Example documents will be presented that will assist the delegate in improving their documentation practices. The workshop will not be lectured led. You as delegates will be presented with documentation in which the practical workshop will be based around. | Designing a Cleaning and Disinfectant Strategy 22nd October 2008, Merseyside, UK Cleaning and disinfection of premises and equipment play a significant part in contamination control of any pharmaceutical process. A detailed understanding of the principles behind cleaning and disinfection is required if a successful sanitisation strategy is to be implemented. This course has been designed not only to provide an overview of the key microbiological issues involved in cleaning and disinfection (including regulatory aspects), but also to demonstrate how that key knowledge is applied in practice via informative and thought provoking presentations and a given by experienced microbiologists combined with an interactive workshop. A certificate of attendance will be issued to the delegates for their training records. Who should attend? This course will be of benefit to scientists involved in microbiological contamination control, to newly recruited auditors, to those involved in the management of cleaning and disinfection and to production supervisors and operators.
