Pharmig - Microbiology Meetings on Topical Issues Within: Risk Management, Training and Biotechnology

Pharmaceutical Microbiology Interest Group

Pharmig are pleased to announce three meetings for Autumn 2007. Pharmig is a non-profit making professional organisation based in the UK, representing the interests of people who are working in, or have responsibility for microbiology.


Risk Based Management in Pharmaceutical Microbiology
Held in Cork, Ireland on 12th September 2007

  • This one day meeting aims to address key aspects of risk assessment and risk management from pharmaceutical, food and NHS industry approaches to ensure an outcome where microbiologists work effectively with other departmental staff. Generally there is a requirement to produce a multi-disciplinary approach to risk assessment which regulators will accept and approve.

  • Suitable for Managers/Supervisors and Experienced Microbiology laboratory personnel, QA/QC, Regulatory Personnel


Setting up and Managing a Training Programme in the Microbiology Lab
Held in Dublin, Ireland on 27th September 2007

  • Unique to Pharmig, this hands on one-day workshop will ensure that you will leave with a clear understanding of the structure of a regulatory acceptable and compliant training programme. This meeting is not lecture led. You, as delegates, will be presented with training files in which the practical workshop will be based around.

  • In having open and frank discussions you will also be in the position to benchmark your current training programme with your peers, taking on board their approaches and structures as well as gaining a vital insight, from experienced tutors, into basic microbiological techniques which are often overlooked as an important part of a training programme.

  • Suitable for Managers/Supervisors in Microbiology QA/QC Regulatory Training Experienced Microbiology laboratory personnel.


Microbiological Challenges in the Biotechnology Industry
Held in Dublin, Ireland on 2nd October 2007

  • This course has been designed not only to provide an overview of the key microbiological issues within the biotechnology industry (including regulatory aspects), but also to demonstrate how that key knowledge is applied in practice via informative and thought provoking presentations given by experienced professionals in the industry. Ample opportunity has been built into each session for all your burning questions and the buffet lunch will give delegates the chance to network and exchange ideas.

  • Meeting includes a tour of Wyeth Biotech QC Chemistry and QC Micro laboratories during lunch.

  • Places for the one day meeting are limited to a maximum of 20, tours numbers are limited to 15.

  • Suitable for Microbiologists R&D Specialists Engineers Qualified Persons Other Quality Personnel Auditors Production Staff Validation & Technical Support Specialists Regulatory Affairs Professionals
