The Formalintec - Portable Unit for Sterilizing Premises Specially for H5N1 Avian Flu

Formalintec

The Asian form of the H5N1 avian influenza (bird flu) spreading in Southeast Asia had a significant impact on the health of domestic poultry and the economic wellbeing of the affected regions.

While avian influenza primarily affects birds, health experts also are concerned that events in SouthEast Asia could lead to a new human pandemic form, resulting from mutation of the virus or recombination between the virus and the human influenza virus.

Given these events, professionals are co-operating to educate poultry producers, the food industry and the general
public about avian influenza. Inspectors, food manufacturers, veterinarians are working together to propose methods to control the spread and suitable procedures to inactivate the virus should poultry or eggs be contaminated.

The "FORMALINTEC" produced by International Pbi is an automatic system that use formaldehyde - the most effective chemical sterilizer - by heating it from liquid to gas state. The formaldehyde is subsequently neutralised by ammonia, producing a harmless by-product. Staff can re-enter the room at the end of the Formalintec cycle.

The "FORMALINTEC" is suitable to treat from 100 to 500 cubic metres environments or up to 15.000 cubic metres. Ideal for use in the food industry, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetic industry, dairy industry, cattle breeding, chicken breeding, slaughter houses, communities, hospitals and animal premises.
