Prodesse Releases Real Time Multiplex PCR Test for Influenza and RSV

Prodesse, Inc. have released its ProFlu-1™ assay. From a single patient sample, this assay will detect and differentiate Influenza A, Influenza B and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). The "Real Time" technology used in ProFlu-1™ makes the detection process faster and easier than conventional molecular diagnostic techniques.

Tom Shannon, CEO, commented, "ProFlu-1 is the first of our Prodesse 'Pro' series of Real Time assays. It is the first commercially available molecular test anywhere in the world for simultaneous detection of these three important pathogens. Our science team has worked hard to bring this product to market prior to the flu season. We expect to begin shipping the product to customers shortly."
