Mountain States Consulting, LLC, has released MSC-LIMS version 3.2, an upgrade to its highly successful version 3.1. The new version builds on its predecessor's streamlined user interface to provide more efficient sample login, enhanced query controls, expanded label scripting and printing options, and optional audit trailing of changes to sample characteristics.

In response to requests by commercial labs, version 3.2 streamlines sample login. Users pre-configure customer-specific sample login options using any combination of the available sample characteristics. The system then presents a picklist of the customer's options during sample login. No more selecting multiple criteria field by field. Users simply select an option from the popup screen to add the characteristics to the sample login screen.

MSC-LIMS' sophisticated query controls may now be used to either include or exclude any number of specified criterion during the query process. Simply toggling the criteria check boxes results in a refined selection.

To speed sample processing, lab personnel may now create any number of label scripts and assign them to projects. The scripts are then available in popup dialog form during sample login. Users may select a pre-defined label script, or use sophisticated building controls to build a script on the fly with proper syntax with little or no manual editing. MSC-LIMS users may print or reprint labels for single or multiple samples, using the selected label style or a label script.

Other upgrades include enhanced audit trail features which allow managers to enable audit trailing of specific sample characteristic fields, on-demand.
