PARSEC Will Streamline ELISA Testing at Henry Ford Health System
Diamedix Corporation in Miami, Florida, has recently received a purchase order from Henry Ford Health System for an expanded PARSEC System. This new five-module automation system is expected to replace current instrumentation and streamline much of the ELISA testing performed by Henry Ford Health System's microbiology and serology-virology laboratories. Henry Ford Health System, one of the USA's largest health care systems, integrates primary and specialty care with research and education. It includes six owned or affiliated hospitals, a 540,000-member health maintenance organization, 22 primary care centers and many other health-related entities located throughout southeastern Michigan. John T. Waugh, Henry Ford's Director of System Laboratory Operations, said, "Henry Ford is committed to providing exceptional care to our patients in a cost-effective manner. We are leveraging new technology, information systems, and the talent of our staff to make this happen. After an extensive review of all options, we are pleased with our decision to purchase a Diamedix PARSEC System to improve the throughput and efficiency of ELISA testing that we perform. We are also excited about the modular design and ability to add additional technology in the future, such as chemiluminescence testing." Giorgio D'Urso, CEO and president of IVAX Diagnostics, said, "We are pleased to have Henry Ford Health System as one of our premier customers for the PARSEC System. We have designed this new laboratory automation platform to be flexible and scalable and the pathology laboratory at Henry Ford Health System has been able to take advantage of this architecture by customizing a PARSEC System to best meet their specific laboratory testing needs. Henry Ford Health System is a large and prestigious medical facility and the five-module system that they have ordered is the largest PARSEC System configuration that has been purchased to date." |
