Esco Labculture® Class II Type A2 Biosafety cabinet has been certified as fully compliant to the requirements of the European Standard EN12469 for microbiological safety cabinets. Stringent performance tests were conducted by Health Protection Agency in Porton Down, United Kingdom.

These included a full set of microbiological performance tests with bacterial spore samples as well as all the other tests detailed in the EN 12469, and a rigorous construction evaluation.

Launched in January 2004, Esco's Labculture® biosafety cabinet features many unique, state-of-the-art developments which include superior ULPA filters with 99.999% efficiency, a microprocessor-based control system, BioCote® anti-microbial powder-coated body and laminated shatter-proof safety glass.

Esco is currently the only company in Asia manufacturing safety cabinets certified to the EN 12469. Esco Airstream Class II Biosafety cabinet series have also been certified to the EN12469 in October, 2002.
