Gibson Laboratories, LLC Receives ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Gibson Laboratories, LLC, has announced that the company has received ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems certification.

Gibson Laboratories is a leading manufacturer of a wide variety of microbiological supplies including prepared culture media, stains, reagents, rapid test kits, QC controls, lyophilized bacterial and fungal cultures, fungal serology and custom manufactured products.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standard specifies the requirements for a Quality Management System (QMS). To achieve ISO 9001:2008 certification, an organization must demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements through a comprehensive QMS. The system must also aim to continually improve and enhance customer satisfaction. Upon completing a number of internal and external audits, Gibson was awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification from Eagle Registrations, Inc., a well known, third-party certification body.

Established in 1975, Gibson Laboratories has earned a reputation for high quality products and services throughout the industry. Naomi Bowling, President of Gibson Laboratories, comments, 'Achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification is an important milestone for us. This certification demonstrates our strong commitment to our customers and the quality of our products and services. We want our customers to have confidence in doing business with Gibson, because we can consistently meet or exceed their needs and deliver in a timely manner.'

Gibson was acquired by Microbiologics, Inc. in January of 2009. Since joining forces, the two companies have worked together to build a world class organization by creating a culture of continuous improvement. Brad Goskowicz, Chief Executive Officer of Microbiologics, states, 'We are especially proud of this achievement because it supports our mission of providing the highest quality biomaterials for a safer, healthier world.'

Microbiologics is majority owned by St. Cloud, Minnesota based Granite Equity Partners. Granite Equity Partners invests human and financial capital from its community of investors, executives, and advisors to advance select companies toward their full potential.
