BIOMIC V3 Microbiology System Reads Liofilchem® AST and ID Products

Automated reading of Liofilchem microbiology products
Giles Scientific (USA) has collaborated with Liofilchem (Italy) to provide automated reading and interpretation of Liofilchem microbiology products including MIC Test Strips, ID and AST Systems, antibiotic disks, and chromogenic agar with the BIOMIC V3 Microbiology System.

BIOMIC V3's digital imaging technology automates the reading, interpretation, and reporting of Liofilchem products following EUCAST, CLSI or BSAC guidelines. All test plate images are saved in high resolution for future review. Bar code reading and a bi-directional LIS/LIMS interface capability further speeds workflow.
'This collaboration fits perfectly with Liofilchem's strategy. The proven quality of the BIOMIC V3 Microbiology System strengthens our position in clinical and industrial microbiology,' acknowledged Fabio Brocco, Chief Operating Officer, of Liofilchem. 'We are convinced that Giles Scientific's entrepreneurial spirit and 25+ years of global experience provide a solid foundation for future growth. We are excited to have such an experienced and dynamic team to collaborate with.'
Curt Direnzi, Director of Sales for Giles Scientific, added: 'We are excited to introduce the automated reading of Liofilchem's AST and ID products into BIOMIC V3. This provides our global network of customers and dealers further means of microbiology lab automation. Working with Liofilchem and their dedicated team of professionals has been very rewarding.'

In addition to Liofilchem products, BIOMIC V3 reads a variety of clinical microbiology tests from other AST-ID manufactures. BIOMIC V3 serves as a primary or secondary AST-ID system for microbiology laboratories of all sizes and setups.
