PATHOGENIC SYSTEM Gives Presumptive Identification Direct from Clinical Specimens

PATHOGENIC SYSTEM
The new PATHOGENIC SYSTEM is a 18 well system containing biochemical substrata for the detection and presumptive identification of pathogenic microorganisms from pharyngeal, cutaneous, auricular and ophthalmic swabs, expectorate, exudate from abscess and injury, and other clinical specimens in only 18-24 hours.

The system is inoculated directly with the suspension of the clinical specimen and incubated at 36 °C.
The tests for the detection and identification of microorganisms present in the specimen are interpreted by evaluating the color change in the wells and performing immunologic and microscopic confirmation tests.

The new PATHOGENIC SYSTEM allows detection and presumptive identification of
  • Streptococcus pyogenes(Group A)
  • Staphylococcus aureus
  • Haemophilus SPP.
  • Escherichia coli
  • Proteus spp./Providencia spp.
  • Pseudomonas spp.
  • KES group microorganisms
  • Enterococcus faecalis
  • Candida spp.
  • and dermatophytes of the genus Microsporum spp., Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton spp.
PATHOGENIC SYSTEM

PATHOGENIC SYSTEM
Just like all the Liofilchem microbiological identification systems, the new PATHOGENIC SYSTEM has the great benefits of:
  • performing simultaneous microbiological screening of several microorganisms in one compact panel
  • reducing costs in labor and laboratory consumables
  • requiring no complex lab instruments because of its extraordinary ease of use.
The wide range microbiological screening of the Liofilchem identification systems allows a complete overview of the microbial population in the specimen, and further confirmatory tests are only needed for those microorganisms which have given a positive result in the PATHOGENIC SYSTEM.

Biochemical, immunoserological and microscopic confirmation tests or susceptibility test following screening can be performed by taking a drop of culture broth from the well of the microorganism to be confirmed.
PATHOGENIC SYSTEM

Liofilchem started manufacturing culture media in 1983. Today, Liofilchem continues to lead the italian microbiological industry in innovation with its microbiological identification systems, used in clinical, industrial, research, and academic laboratories around the world.

Liofilchem also produces dehydrated culture media, selective supplements, ready to use culture media in petri dish, tube, bottle and dip-slide, microbial identification and susceptibility test systems, antibiotic discs in cartridges, systems for the chemical and microbial screening in food, sterilization process control systems.
