NEW - Lateral Flow Assay Singlepath® L'mono

Singlepath L.mono

Merck Millipore / EMD Chemicals launch new rapid test for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes

The wide range of innovative rapid tests available from Merck Millipore / EMD Chemicals has been extended to now include Singlepath® L'mono (Cat. No. 1.04148.). This test is the first lateral flow assay that enables the specific detection of the human- and animal pathogen Listeria monocytogenes in food and environmental samples after enrichment in Fraser or BLEB Broth for 48 hours according to standard procedures. In addition, Singlepath® L'mono can also be used as a rapid confirmation test. Suspect Listeria colonies obtained from any Listeria selective agar are easily confirmed within just 1,5 h using this new convenience assay. The Singlepath® L'mono test finally helps food manufacturers to make quick decisions about the release of food products, especially those with shorter shelf life.

In a study conducted by the University of Giessen, Germany, with spiked and naturally contaminated food samples such as meat, dairy and fish products, Singlepath® L'mono showed 100% agreement with the reference method (ISO Standard 11290-2004 for testing of Listeria in Food and Animal feeds). Moreover, results showed that Singlepath® L'mono is capable to rapidly identify all known 13 serotypes of Listeria monocytogenes which can lead to listeriosis, the disease caused by this pathogen.

Singlepath® L'mono extends Merck's and EMD's unique and innovative Singlepath / Duopath lateral flow program for the rapid and convenient detection and confirmation of Salmonella, Listeria spp., E. coli O157, verotoxin-producing E. coli, pathogenic Campylobacter, and for Legionella. As for all rapid tests available from Merck and EMD, Singlepath L'mono is perfectly adapted to Merck's comprehensive range of high-quality granulated dehydrated culture media for the enrichment and plating of Listeria.
