Summary:Pharmaceutical - Seminar
Mycoplasmas are a contaminant of mammalian cell culture processing and have a significant impact on product quality and safety. Biopharmaceutical drug products must be free of Mycoplasma; and an early detection of a Mycoplasma infection is crucial for avoiding major issues in manufacturing operations.
Traditional methods of detecting Mycoplasma can delay the release of cell culture derived products and do not allow for in-process testing due to their long turn around times. Rapid molecular methods based on qPCR deliver results within hours and the benefits include:
- Same-day results
- Fact-based decision-making
- Opportunity for multiple sampling points during the manufacturing process (in-process testing)
- Safety: Broad detection of >90 Mycoplasma species, including rare species
- Actionable results: Proven sensitivity and specificity
- Optimized sample preparation
This FREE educational workshop, developed by Applied Biosystems and BioOutsource serves to illustrate the benefits and power of utilizing rapid molecular methods for mycoplasma detection.
Please note that lunch will be provided free of charge, but all travel and accommodation costs need to be covered by the delegate.
