Summary:Clinical - Conference
The Standards Unit is hosting its
Annual Scientific Symposium on the 11th February 2010 to be held at the Centre for Infections, Colindale.
This year's topic is ‘Hepatitis syndrome – causes and diagnosis’ and aims to look at the range of diseases that contribute to this syndrome and how to diagnosis it. The symposium will cover areas including the epidemiology of viral hepatitis in the UK through to the clinical value of RIBA testing with an open discussion on Hepatitis C diagnosis.
The day will be used as a platform to launch the
Syndromic algorithms a new initiative from the National Standard Methods Working Groups. The algorithms will complete the diagnostic investigative process to guide clinicians and laboratory staff to choose the correct pathway for the investigation of a sample, based upon clinical findings and patient symptoms.
